  • The Astronomer and the Star

    Emily Greene

Paperback (Independently published, March 21, 2018)
Bernard, a little boy who lives in an astronomy tower, stumbled across a lost star. How will he help her return home? ...There once lived a small boy named Bernard. He was an astronomer and lived in a very tall tower in the middle of a very thick forest. It was his family’s tower, and since his parents had so much work to do in the bordering kingdoms, Bernard was left to his own devices for the better part of the year. Generally, he liked the quiet that came with living by himself. He was able to study in peace for hours on end, and he could go to bed or wake up whenever he chose. Although he enjoyed the solitude, Bernard, as with most people, was subject to the loneliness that crept up on him during the winter months when his parents were not around. He would then spend his time observing the wildlife, the birds and the squirrels, the forest cats and the wandering bears all from high above the branches from his bedroom window. He would make sketches of the animals in his notebook, write down observations, speculate as to where they had come from, where they were going. From his tower, he could see quite a bit of this part of the forest, and the telescope he used to observe the stars at night was also quite useful in observing the life below him. ...
